Your school formal is coming up quickly and you want to make sure you’re organised for your big day! Here’s my top 6 tips to prepare for your school formal photos:
1. Book Early!
Try and be as early as you can to organise and book in your hair and make-up, your car, and of course, your photographer!
2.Talk To Your Photographer
Do some research on Pinterest (or your preferred social media!) to see if there’s any poses or photo ideas you want included. Your photographer will have some suggestions as to a location that will suit you, and the timings needed to make sure you get to your arrivals on time! Let your photographer know who else will be at the photos (family, friends, etc) so they can plan the session accordingly.
3.Allow Travel time
When planning your photo session time, always allow more time for travel than you think you will need! Usually formals are late afternoon, and this is peak traffic time. Also, when your car gets to the venue, there may be a big line-up of arrivals waiting. Make sure your family travels to your arrival ahead of you so they can be there to watch you walk in.
4.Eat Something
No-one needs to be hangry or light-headed at their formal (or pre-formal photos!) Have a light meal to keep you going, and make sure to stay hydrated.
5.What To Bring
Make sure you bring a small bottle of water, a brush, lipstick and makeup for touch-ups. Baby wipes are also useful (just in case!) Keep an eye on the weather predictions in case you need an umbrella.
6.Enjoy your special day!
You’ll only have this day once in your life… try to enjoy it and soak it in as much as you can!
