If you’re looking for Toowoomba locations for pre-formal photos, here’s my top 6 places. There are so many great places for school formal photos in Toowoomba, but these options give great variety and are usually close to the formal venues. (Updated for 2024!)

Number 6: Laurel Bank Park

Laurel Bank Park has always been a favourite for pre-formal photos, and with it’s large trees, beautiful gardens and lawn areas, it’s the perfect setting. (Depending on where your formal is, you might even get the purple flowers on the wisteria arch!)

Number 5: Toowoomba Railway Station

The Toowoomba Railway Station is a popular location, near the centre of the city. It’s close to formal venues, and the heritage buildings look great in photos!

Number 4: Peacehaven Park

If you live in Highfields, and don’t have the time to drive in to Toowoomba, Peacehaven Park is your best bet! With rolling green lawns and big trees, it’s the perfect spot for your formal photos.

Number 3: Urban Photos

If you want something more modern, why not try the street art and exposed brickwork in the CBD? There’s lots of variety and you can choose something that matches the colours of your outfit.

Number 2: Japanese Gardens

The Japanese Gardens are traditionally another very popular location. There is such a variety of backgrounds- including the lake, bamboo forest, hedging and of course the red bridges make it a great spot for pre-formal photos.

Number 1: Old Post Office

The Old Toowoomba Post Office building is a great place to keep in mind if the weather is wet! Once again, beautiful heritage aspects translate into stunning formal photos!
