Every year, dads and kids agonise over what their mum really wants for Mother’s Day. Flowers? Chocolate? Pyjamas?
I asked the question on my social media pages, and this is what mums told me they wanted…
1.No decision- making
Mums actually want someone else to decide and organise the celebration. One mum on my social media said “I’d happily settle for not organising any food for anyone all day. Breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner & dessert for 5 people everyday is actually very draining. 210 meals a week….endless shopping.”

2.Time with family…..or alone
Some mums want to celebrate with their families, at home or going out for a meal. Other mums just want some time alone, with no-one bothering them. Either is fine! Another mum agreed, “…time to sit and read a book… the dream!”

3. A sleep-in
Mums really want a sleep-in, or an uninterrupted nap during the day. Time to step up dads, and let the mums have some peace and quiet in the morning!

4. Handmade gifts
Mums love when something is made just for them by their loved ones. It’s the thought that counts!

5. Cleaning
Mums really want to have the house cleaned without asking anyone else to do it.

6.To be appreciated
Mums just want to have their hard work and mental load acknowledged.

7.Photos
Mums want family photos, and for the session to be willingly attended and enthusiastically embraced. I can certainly help you with this one, and you can quickly and easily purchase a gift voucher for your mum here!

Hopefully this has helped you figure out what your mum really wants for Mother’s Day!
